Heaven and Hell: John Burke on The Shawn Ryan Show

In this world where evil seems to increase, God’s presence has matched and exceeded it. I wanted to do a follow-up post to what I had published last week. So, I am sort of bumping that post, because I think what Burke said is incredibly powerful. What I write after this is new and NOT a copy and paste from that post. I have since been able to listen to the entire podcast, and wanted to re-share. I think it is that important.

Burke has done extensive documentation of experiences of people who died. Some met God. Some ended up in hell. Some saw both. It is probably the most powerful thing I have listed to in a long, long time. It has changed the way that I view Jesus. He walks with us at all times. You can find the entire podcast on Spotify. Just search for John Burke and Shawn Ryan.

The following is an excerpt which talks about one a man(an atheist) whose heart stopped, and he found himself being transported to hell. Yeah, that is depressing. But there is hope. What happens next (after he finds himself in the darkest of darkness) is a wonderful reminder that Jesus is very real. It reminded me of the following verse…but be sure to watch the video below. It just blew me away.

Psalm 139

Where can I go from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

Here is a bonus share….A Hindu man, Santosh, dies and sees heaven. What he describes is a beautiful city with 12 gates and the throne of the Almighty. He has no motive to prove the Biblical description of the heaven. Yet, he does exactly that. Santosh would later share that the who he saw was, in fact, Jesus. It changed Santosh’s life. Santosh thought God was going to cast him into hell, but instead God sent him back with instructions to help his family(specifically his daughter) and to surrender and seek Him daily. Santosh would come to Jesus. How could he not? He had met him!
