Satan’s Plan for Our Children

I saw this on Facebook, and it moved me. It is incredibly powerful. In the very beginning in the book of Genesis, Satan came for our children. Cain took the life of Abel. We saw this in the House of Jacob when Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery. We saw in this in David’s family when Absalom sought to overthrow his dad. If Satan can corrupt our children, he prevents their future ministry and witness from occurring. It is our job as believers to bear witness to the teachings of Jesus(the Son of God), and to remember that ultimately it is our job to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all of them.

I am reminded of Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia. He protected and taught the children who stepped through the wardrobe. CS Lewis is quoted as saying this by the CS Lewis Institute:

I thought I saw how stories of this kind could steal past a certain inhibition which had paralysed much of my own religion in childhood. Why did one find it so hard to feel as one was told one ought to feel about God or about the sufferings of Christ? I thought the chief reason was that one was told one ought to. An obligation to feel can freeze feelings . . . But supposing that by casting all these things into an imaginary world, stripping them of their stained-glass and Sunday school associations, one could make them for the first time appear in their real potency? Could one not thus steal past those watchful dragons? I thought one could.

Lewis knew that the Lion of Judah was protection enough for the children of God. We must seek to do what Lewis did, and that is to lead young people to the foot of the cross, and let them choose. That is our job. We must remain vigilant as Satan can morph into thousands of different forms in order to invade our households. We must, with the help of the Good Shepherd, lead them away from danger.

Lastly, I want to take a second and thank a local BOE member for stepping up. You know who you are, and I can’t thank you enough. And some might be like, “How do you even know that?” You can’t hide good works, folks. You have my vote for as long as you have the job. I have previously stated that I would not be voting for anyone on this board again. Well, I have the right to change my mind…

I Timothy 5: 25 In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden forever.

Psalm 34: 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

2 Corinthians 12: 9-11 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
