Some Great Podcasts

When I am running or on the treadmill or driving, I like to listen to podcasts or books which are both good for me and keeps me interested. Need some ideas? I am constantly asking my friends for good content. Actually, one of these was even shared with my by one of those friends!I thought I would share a snipped of stuff that I listen to. (By the way, I am sharing the YouTube versions as it is a bit easier to share that platform’s content on the blog. I actually utilize Spotify for most of my podcast listening.)

Additionally, I think podcasts are a fantastic way to bring content to students which will promote rich conversations. Podcasts would also be excellent sources of content for writing prompts. Again, school doesn’t have to be boring. So much better than test prep prompts! And remember, some students learn far more effectively through the auditory channel.

Valley of Shadows….This is a gripping and fantastically produced podcast about an unsolved mystery in Los Angles County. John Aujay, a sheriff and ultra-runner, fails to come home from a run in the Devil’s Punchbowl. A big theme of mine this year is to understand the depths of evil we are confronting and how to stand against it. I just about couldn’t turn this podcast off.

Unashamed w/ the Robertston Family...Jase and Al Robertson (Phil’s sons) have a great podcast which is actually a daily Bible study. They move through a lot of scripture. I have found very few of their podcasts which I didn’t finish.

The Shawn Ryan Show: Jeremiah Johnston….This one knocked my socks off. Despite the title, almost all of this is about Jesus, His crucifixion, and His resurrection.

The Shawn Ryan Show: John Burke Imagine Heaven….We listened to this one on a day-trip. We simply couldn’t turn it off. I would have been tempted to take the long way home so I could finish this one.

The Shawn Ryan Show: Lee Strobel, Who is Jesus Christ the Son of God?….I really wish Shawn Ryan would just interview folks like Strobel and Burke. His shows about Jesus are fantastic. This one is another show which just knocked my socks off.

The Joe Rogan Experience: Randall Carlson….I have really grown to enjoy Randal Carlson. He and Graham Hancock talk a lot about our world having a bit of amnesia. In other words, we have lost something(knowledge/civilization) which was destroyed by a great catastrophe. I find that what they discuss points directly to the global flood which is described in Genesis. It is interesting that an event that many simply discounted as a folk tale or regional event…there are folks out there who are taking a lot of heat for saying that maybe the Bible had it right to begin with! No surprise on that.
