The Shroud of Turin: A Podcast by Shawn Ryan

A good friend of mine told me about this podcast from last week. Shawn Ryan interviews Jeremiah Johnston. I immediately listened to the first 1:50(one hour, 50 minutes) of this. Those minutes are all about Jesus.

There is a conversation about what damage a Roman flagrum would have done to Jesus. There is a conversation about what first century dice would look like. There is a conversation of about why Roman nails where re-used and bent. There is conversation about what a crown of thorns looked like.

But what is really interesting is their conversation about the shroud of Turin. I make no claims about the shroud. But the conversation is compelling. I had no idea that this was actually not a relic of the Catholic Church – it was given to them as a gift during the late 20th century.

The real treasure in this podcast, though, is the discussion about resurrection and maybe the energy it took. This is good enough that I honestly thought about shelving my own Easter post and only sharing this. Instead, I just went with two Easter posts.

Jeremiah Johnston shares the Good News.

If you need Jesus to strengthen your faith. Just ask Him.

Happy Easter.
