Let’s keep this simple. If a student(homeschool or KCS) competes for the Dobyns-Bennett Indians in any varsity sport, they should have an equal opportunity to be placed upon the “Athletes of Distinction” wall. Wordsmithing this any other way (by KCS officials) just sounds gross. WJHL has a full article about […]

A Win for the Deplorables
The vote in the Tennessee General Assembly yesterday was a win for children currently sitting in a terrible school situation who can’t get out. It was a win for parents tired of sending their children to a school system where leadership is behaving unjustly. It was a win for the […]

John Adams once stated, “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” I might add that fair elections results are stubborn things as well. Repeat after me, “My vote counts just […]
An Overdue Thank You to Governor Bill Lee’s Administration for Getting Our Schools Open During COVID
I know many of you helped us in the long fight to get schools open in Northeast Tennessee during Covid. It was brutal to see what school closures were doing to our community and our families. While private schools remained open for the entirety of the pandemic along with other […]
KCS Inclement Weather Decisions: The More Things Change, The More Things Stay The same…
I barely even know what to say when I see decisions like today. Five years ago, I watched Kingsport City Schools lock their students out of buildings for a year and a half during the pandemic. Where was the KCS collective conscience then? Kids in poverty weren’t getting fed regularly. […]

Make Orwell Fiction Again: Trump Will Work to Reverse the Biden Legacy
Make Orwell Fiction Again. Now that is a catchy quote, and a clever play on the Trump campaign’s famous slogan. I was listening to Elon Musk on a recent Joe Rogan podcast. He turned the phrase during that show. How appropriate given that today is Inauguration Day. Let’s take a […]
Tommorrow, We Have a New Sheriff In Town
I am going to unapologetically take a victory lap tomorrow. I will be as humble as possible. But ya’ll, I am tired of seeing our nation’s history erased and painted over(and Kingsport folks, you all know exactly what logo I am referring to…) as if it never existed. Donald J […]
What are school vouchers? A primer…
I believe that school choice should be a basic freedom. The basic premise of school vouchers(aka individual student vouchers) is that some of your tax dollars are returned to your family. Then, you take that money and choose which school that you want your child to attend. Here is the […]
