In a landmark vote, both the House and Senate of the State of Tennessee have passed The Education Freedom Scholarship Act. The monopoly of public schools has been broken. School vouchers are just one signature by the Governor(Bill Lee) from being signed into law.
I will have more later. For me, today the lockdowns are finally over. This will have far reaching accountability for school systems and BOEs which fail to listen to the people. Want to erase our mascot? We can now hold the system accountable. Want to take tax dollars from working communities and build a school across town? We can now hold the system accountable. Want to disregard the will of the American people after the 2024 elections? We can now hold the system accountable. Want to tolerate inappropriate behavior of employees? We can now hold the system accountable. Want to close our schools or force our students to wear masks? We can now hold the system accountable, and leave.
But more importantly, today Tennessee children and their families have been set free from artificial school boundaries which prevented them from going to better schools. My heart if full on account of them.
Today, freedom has prevailed.
