Like many of you, sometimes I wake up early and worry about all of the things that lie before me during the coming day. In reality, I think God is waking me up in order to have me pray about the day to come. Satan takes that early wake-up call and corrupts it in order to bring anxiety when God simply meant for me to pray for the day to come.
I want you to know something. God has power over every enemy in your life – all of them. We have no fear of trials and suffering which will come our way. From John 14: 25-27….
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Do not be afraid. Jesus will remind you of everything He has said to you.
in His resurrection we find the strength to stand and face every trial. In No Wonder They Call Him the Savior, Max Lucado writes…
No, as you look at the motley crew, you wouldn’t wager too many paychecks on their future. But something happens to a man when he witnesses someone who has risen from the dead. Something stirs within the soul of a man who has stood within inches of God. Something stirs that is hotter than gold fever and more permanent than passion.
Do not be afraid. He is risen from the dead.
Throughout the Bible, the Lord commands us not to fear. In Deuteronomy 31:8 it reads….
8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Do not be afraid. The Lord goes before you. He is with you and will never leave.
Our God is so powerful that he may have already been present in your moment of contention or moment of suffering before you ever arrived. And while He was there, He was preparing the way – setting out a path before you. God has met your enemies on the battlefield before they ever got there!
And there is more! Not only does God tell us not to fear. He says that he will strengthen us and He will hold us up. Isaiah 41:10 reads…
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Do not fear. “I am” is with you. Starting to see a pattern in why we shouldn’t fear?
Go about this day with confidence. Preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. As God told Goliath (through David) as David stood before he stood before Goliath, the battle belongs to the Lord.
My strength is in your name
For you alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
